Description: The first part of this project examines the neighbourhood around Yonge Street and Sheppard Avenue in Toronto. Properties were evaluated based on four typologies, two of which were focused on: the amount of the lot that the backyard occupied, and the distance between the lot and the highway. These typologies culminated into the total distance between the house and the highway, which then informed the design proposal. The second part of this project proposes additional homes on either side of the 401 with land bridges over the roofs and across the highway. This addition addresses issues of connectivity, green space and housing.
